About Mobile Payments US
Shell Payments is part of the Shell app and lets drivers pay for fuel from their phone. Payments US went through two design rounds, and I was the UI/UX designer on both.

Indoor payments
The second design round added indoor payments, so drivers could also pay inside the station. Together with a redesigned overview that brought loyalty and quick links together, it was planned as the Shell app’s headline feature for 2017.
Creating the best possible experience for indoor payments was one of the most important and most challenging parts of the project. Much of the underlying system was already in place, which left little room to shape the experience around it.
Home screen concepts
Concepts for the Shell app’s home screen in the US, bringing Fuel Rewards, daily offers, the nearest station and recent transactions together in one overview. They also featured Fill up & Go, from Shell’s partnership with CurrentC.
What I did
- Got stakeholders on board with design and user experience decisions
- Designed flows and experiences from existing visual components, within Shell’s brand guidelines
- Created micro-animations and clickable prototypes

About Shell Drive
Shell Drive started as my graduation project, with one goal: use a mobile app to help people drive greener and more efficiently. It has since grown into the gamification part of the Shell app and is available in more than 10 countries.
I worked on Shell Drive as a designer for two years, helping build a multi-country app that became a core part of Shell’s consumer experience.
